CHELSEA STAR LINKED WITH A SURPRISE MOVE TO EURO GIANTS.
Juventus have contacted Chelsea over a shock move for England defender Gary Cahill, according to stories.
The Old Lady lost Leonardo Bonucci to rivals AC Milan earlier this summer and are eager to secure an experienced defender to succeed the Italian international.
The 31-year-old defender was named Chelsea’s club skipper after John Terry’s exit. However, he’s had a terrible start to the season and was sent off in the Blues’ opening weekend loss to Burnley.
Conte has added Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen to his squad since last campaign and wished to land Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk before the transfer window closes.
The Dutchman’s transfer would push Cahill closer to the edges of Chelsea’s squad and the Sun claims Conte would be open to letting him go.
Juventus are believed to be willing to spend around £16.5million to land Cahill and have opened negotiations with Chelsea over a deal.
It is unclear whether Cahill would be open to the move and the transfer could hinge on Chelsea’s left transfer business.
Conte is keen on signing up to four footballers in the next week, including a centre-half and a defender.
